Hello all. Still new to Landrovers so please take it easy on me.
Have a question on Tyres and appreciate some advise. The rims on the Landy is the standard alloys from land rover and 16". The tyres are worn out, although they have enough thread on them to last another year or so but the the thread pattern on the front one are different from the back. They are 205/75/16 so I like to change them to something a bit bigger as there are loads of room under the wheel arches and these tyres actually look kind of small for the Landy. I don't do any off roading and use the Landy mainly as my every day car. Reading about the various tyres on different website, I am almost guessing that I should be able to change them to 235/85/16 without the need of adjusting anything but am not 100% sure. I anticipate that I might loose the wheel lock but am not too bothered with that as long as that they won't rub against the body in full turn. Really appreciate some advise from the more experiance folks or people who have done the similar change. Cheers, Mo.

Welcome to the forum, 235's are a standard fit for a tratter and will go straight on with no adjustments. What wheels have you got cos if they are alloys you could also fit 265/75/16's but they would need the steering bumps adjusting

235's will fit nicely .. ;) I have Malatesta extreme tyres on mine, (235 85) with no lock stop or arch problems at all. I would imagine a similar sized more road oriented tyre would fit just the same .. )

I'd go for the 235/85.
I personally think that 265/75's feel to floaty on a 90, especially unladen on wet tarmac roads, the narrower 235/85 (although only a small difference) seems to feel totally different on the road to me, the 90 just feels 'better', you also lose some lock with the 265/75's.
Also, if you mainly are on the road the 235/85's are slightly taller, so will give you a slightly better gearing for road use (although there isn't to much in it), and fill the arches beautifully. Good luck!

I am really grateful for all your replies. Thank you very much for taking time and doing so, really appreciate it. It put my mind at rest. I am not so keen on wider tyres so will go with 235/85 although it is great to now know that I would also have the option of 265/75 in case in future wanted to change again.

PS: Paul your Landy looks an absolute cracker mate, love it, and thank you very much for sharing the photo as the look of the tyre fitted to the car always give a better perspectives.

Cheers to all. Mo.
