Hi All,
I have a def. 90 turbo - pre TDI - the engine is taking a long time to respond when the go pedal is pressed. (5-6 seconds) All filters have been renewed as has lift pump and all pipe work from tank to lift pump and return replaced.Air filter renewed, waste gate actuator checked checked and working. Injectors recently replaced. Anyone have any ideas? cheers - pat.

Has the pump timing been checked? It sounds like the pump is running retarded, has the cambelt been changed recently if not could have jumped a tooth. How is it starting from cold?

No the timing belt hasn't been changed, it starts well from cold - does tend to want to stall form high revs when returning to tickover. Cheers - pat.

Sounds like the IP, if it wants to stall from high revs, that sounds like the mechanisim responsible for killing the diesel when you take your foot off the pedal is not picking up again and feeding in diesel quickly enough.
