Hi,
The Door Pillars on my 2001 Defender 90 are corroding as can be seen in the attached photos.
The nearside is worse than the offside.

Can these be fixed (don't shout), with filler, or should I be looking at getting the old ones cut out and replacements welded in ?

Can anyone recommend anyone in the Dorset (Blandford/Dorchester) area that could do the work if replacement door pillars are required, including the respraying please ?

Thanks
Rog

You would need to remove the door seal and have a carful look. that might be caught early enough that it is just surface and you could get away with a rub down, rust converter treatments and some new paint. However you may find when you remove the door seal that there is more rust inside or when you start to rub it down that there are pin holes in the metal in which case they need replacing. Throw up some more pictures and you will get a more accurate assessment.

P.S. as a shameless self promotion I currently have in the for sale section (LINK) a pair of new replacement pillars up for sale.
