Defender 2008 Paint Codes/colours?

I have purchased some spray paint on ebay and have ordered the code on the metal plate under the bonnet. 821 which I understand to be Galway Green. I ordered 821 and that is what it says on the tin. Having primed I started on the colour (821). It soon became obvious the colour is wrong. Either the vehicle has the wrong code on it or the problem is with the supplier.

For anyone to help in this regard you will have to have a pretty good knowledge of the colours available in 2008. My vehicle is a fairly dark green metallic but the colour in the spray can (also metallic) is very dark green (almost black).

I seem to remember a colour Caledonian Green being available at the time. Could it be a mix up between these 2 colours?

Is Galway green or Caledonian green a very dark green (almost black).
