Hi,

I'm in the process of replacing the "Direction indicator stalk". In removing the three steering column switch multi plugs I've pulled out a number of the coloured wires from the front wiper terminals.

There's 8 numbered terminals and the following coloured wires:

Yellow/Green
White
Red/Green + Red
Blue/Green
Brown/Green

3 Brown/Green + Black
6 Red/Green
7 Red Green + Red

I've looked through the workshop manual, and searched the forums, and looked on line but I can't find the right diagram.

Would anyone happen to know which terminals the rest of the wires might match up to?

Thanks in advance!
Andy

Any chance you could post up a pic of the back of the switch that shows the numbers on the terminals?

I was recently buzzing out my washer switch and made some notes. But I didn't write down terminal numbers, so dont know which terminal is which in terms of their numbers.

These might not be the best pix, but here's a couple of shots which show (half) the connectors:

Thanks for your help!

Incidentally I've phoned up Lucas to see if they can help. Someone *might* get back to me. Of all the trawling of the net I've done I've not found one person who's clumsily managed to pull these cables out the back of the switch.

Disconnecting the three steering column connectors was such a b**ch that I can't see how it's not been done many times before!

Thanks again,
Andy

OK, I cant quite see all of the terminal numbers, but from a process of elimination and the notes I made, this is my best guess.

5 is Yellow/green.
2 is Brown/green
The pin next to 7 is white. Is that pin 1?
The pin next to 3 is green/blue. Is that pin 4?
Leaving pin 8 red/green.

From my notes. White is your ignition live (as always).
When the washer is off it is connected to blue/green.
When in the down (intermittent) position it is connected to Brown/Green.
In the first up position (on slow) it is connected to Red/green.
In the second up position (fast) it is connected to yellow/green.
Squirt connects it to Green/Black.

I hope that's right.

Yeah apologies. I'm no David Bailey it seems.

Really appreciate your notes and confirmation.

I'll give it a go this weekend and post back results.

Lucas haven't got back to me yet.

Cheers,
Andy

Hmmm, this didnt work. When wired up like this:

Down = always on
1st position up = always on
2nd position up = off

Anyone got any further ideas?

Thanks,
Andy

Hi I was wondering if anyone can help me please. I have a land rover 90, and I have no working indicators and or wipers. I have washers which work when the washer jet is depressed.

The wash / wiper stalk is wired up as follows:

Pin 1 = Light green / blue
Pin 2 = Dark green / brown
Pin 3 = Dark green / black
Pin 4 = Dark green / white ]
Pin 5 = Yellow / light green
Pin 6 = Light green / red
Pin 7 = Light green / red
Pin 8 = Light green / red

Pins 6,7 & 8 are connected to each other
Pins 2 & 3 are connected to each and the black wire is connected to the stalk itself
There is also a light green / black cable that run into the stalk itself.

The steering lock has been cut out of the vehicle and the wire loom was pulled off the back of the wash / wipe stalk. I also have a feeling that the indicator stalk is wired incorrectly as well, as there are wire disconnected from it.

The hazard warning lights work, but the individual indicators do not. I am wondering if the hazard warning switch is faulty? Or possibly the relay?

Anyone able to help please?

Many thanks.
