Evening all - hope you're all feeling christmassy.

I insulated & carpeted the back of the Landy with some home made benches a few months back but realised quickly after that i've got a considerable leak coming from somewhere up high at the rear that's ruined it already (havent ruled out it being magical internal rain clouds yet... ) - can't seem to see how it's possible to leak in but noticed people adding sealant to the gutter thing that goes around the roof but whilst the paint looks a little cracked i cant see how that would help me - am i missing something?!

All advice appreciated!

mine at the moment with the cold weather looks to be leaking but its actually condensation from the roof cross beam thingies that are the only thing that's exposed inside the cabin

Does it leak when the car is stationary or driven? There are lots of areas where water can ingress. Are you able to trace where it is coming from?

Appears to be from when it's parked outside i replaced the rear door but noticed there's a puddle in the sill on the inside which I assume is running down when it over flows. No obvious route in so wondered of this is one of those Defender quirks?

It could potentially be condensation but can be a sealant crack. If you don't want to reseal the gutter then try this https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Captain-...738179&hash=item4b1742de40:g:nBgAAOSwRoZZh4Xk.

I have it on my shelf but not used it yet as I went and did a full rebuild. Many people use it though.

You can download a document called the water ingress manual which gives a lot of info on the multitude of waters a landy can leak.

My tub tops are bad and water comes in the back corners then finds it's way to other areas, if I park it with the front up hill then its is not nearly so bad, high on the list for next year is some tub tops and a good tidy up.
