Defender 110 rear diff 'clunk' when changing direction from forwards to backwards etc

I have a 2010 110 Tdci station wagon which I have owned from new. It has now done 47000 miles and has had all servicing done at correct intervals by a trusted main dealer. Very little off road use - mainly standard road / motorway use. Recently I have noticed a low level 'clunk' coming from the area of the rear diff when moving forward from reverse into 1st and also vise versa from 1st into reverse. i.e.when the vehicle comes to a rest in reverse and then changes to forward direction in 1st gear, there is a 'clunk' as previously described. Not a problem at present and it's something that perhaps needs time to develop before it is fixed - but does anyone have a suggestion as to what may be the cause? Thanks.

Yeah sounds like a Hardy spicer (UJ)

The rear diff may need some adjustment or may be suffering bearing failure!!
They don't build them like they used to !!!!!
But do check your propshaft uj first! Jack the back axle up and rotate wheel ! You will feel if there's a lot of play! Wear in input gear to crown wheel!!! There will be !!!!! It's not easy to check uj on the car but if they are bad they will move around unevenly !!!
