Hi Guys, i'm new to these forums & i'm in the process of rebuilding a defender but have some slight issues.
Its been a full rebuild from chassis up, and i now have a rolling chassis which could be driven but no brake lines. Wired her up last night the things that arent wired up are all the lights (as theres only thebulkhead on), also the 2 large connectors are wired up for the warning lights and also the fo light/indicator/horn/wipers are wired up (all the bits on the steering column). There is no brake fluid in the resovoir, however all oil, water etc has been replaced and refilled.
Fuel has been bled through, however when i have wired up the ignition barrel/switch its all the right way, took pics before and is deffinately no fault there, tested switch for giving power to each part in turn and all fine. When we remove the large white wire from the barrell it will turn over with key in correct position, however when replaced it will not. Also we are not getting power to the glow plugs but power is available at all wires from the ignition switch when required, and 2 stay on for running etc so i don't doubt the barrel at all.
More background info, timing belt change, new filters, new glow plugs, same existing loom, is this a problem people have had before and whats the solution? or would the issue of no fluid in the resovoir would the sensor not allow the engine to run? i have power to fuel solonoid in run position, and have disconncted oil level/pessure switch and no difference. Any help appreciated. Thanks Tim
