The Merlinghnd is right on the button , in fact i would say any milage of say 40,k change that breather filter,no big deal for the cost,and dont go sticking ****e oil in stick to half or full synthetic,and on the diesels change ya oil and filter every 1 1/2 years no matter how low your milage. . .merlinghnd said:hello
I agree with BABell but if you look under "Loss of power- new engine" you will see my experience. My thought is that the oil and smoke in exhuast is caused by the engine breathing, knackering the turbo etc. I would advise anyone to get the "cam cover breather filter " done first. A
new turbo might fix it for a while and get the car moving but the build up of oil and pressure will get it again in the end. Hope this helps, it took me months and heartache to get this fixed but touch wood everything is still OK.
