Posted similar a year ago but thread went dead and have lived with it since.
My 2003 D2 Td5 auto instruments do not display:
- which gear selected in the ODO lcd panel
- Green M and S lights
- glow plug warning light
All tests carried out indicate these functions are working OK (XYZ switch, gearbox mode button, current to glow plugs) so the instrument cluster just seems to think it is petrol manual rather than auto diesel. I have a Hawkeye Total diag tool that shows the BCU being programmed to auto box.
I have swapped instrument clusters with a known working one to rule out LED failure and after appropriate syncing it has the same issue.
It seems like a possible comms issue between the BCU and instrument cluster, but I have read up on Nanocom and it seems Nanocom has a module to allows the cluster to be configured correctly.
Questions to the D2 Nanocom owning community: Is this the case that the cluster can be configured and if so, anyone close to PE28 that I can visit, swap cash for time, and see if I can configure the cluster in my D2?
Otherweise, any experience of the same, including BCU and cluster not talking to each other and any other diag tools that m,ight reveal more? The Hawkeye Total does pretty much everything needed on a D2 but has nothing regarding the instruments (but everything for the BCU).
Thanks in advance for any info on this
