Disco 2 D2 facelift rear lights colour difference

I recently bought a beautiful D2 (facelift 2003), but just noticed a colour difference in the rear lights. Is someone able to confirm that this is odd? The right side is chipped just a little bit, so I might want to replace that with an identical light as on the left.
Has it something to do with an aftermarket product?

Take right one apart and clean it well, looks like something growing inside

It seems like the whole unit is glued together, so I am hesitant to try and pry it apart. When looking through the hole where the light bulb goes, it seems quite clean.
It might be some loss of reflective coating.

Probably better buying two of the same if you can't clean.
I bought two in bumper lights for my 1999 D2 after a BMW decided to write itself off with my rear end.
First MoT afterwards earned me an advisory, he said they where too pink !?
