Hey guys I finally solve most engine related problems from my D2 and there are no errors from ECU, everything is running with good parameters (temp, turbo, aap, maf, map, ecu oil, etc...)

But I have a persistent error from the Autobox P1884 that keeps getting back, any ideas where to look?
This transmission was rebuild like 2 years ago with the previous owner but I really don't know if they did a good job

Symptons:
- No M/S lights
- I can drive the car fine-ish
- The gear changing is not the best and I feel like it holds gear too much and changes between 2.500, 2.800 to even 3.000 if I'm going uphill
- Sometimes it gives a little push forward when changing downhill.

have you checked the battery/charging voltage? low battery can be the source of many errors
otherwise i'd be checking wires and connectors as i think its a signal related error but could also be a dodgy sensor eg MAF

I don't think bad battery could affect my autobox enough so I can feel the strange behavior
sensor are all new and replaced, I'm gonna check the autobox module connections... according to GPT it could be connections

The P1884 error code in the automatic transmission of the Land Rover Discovery 2 indicates a communication line failure between the transmission control module and other vehicle modules. This issue may be caused by problems in the CAN (Controller Area Network) communication network, faulty electrical connections, or even a malfunctioning control module.

When this error occurs, it's common for the "M" and "S" lights on the instrument panel to flash simultaneously, indicating the transmission has entered emergency mode. In this condition, the transmission may not shift gears properly or may be limited to a specific gear.

To diagnose and fix the issue:

  1. Check electrical connections – Inspect the connectors and wiring related to the transmission control module to ensure there is no corrosion, damage, or loose connections.
  2. Analyze the CAN network – Use appropriate diagnostic equipment to check the integrity of the vehicle’s CAN communication network.
  3. Test the transmission control module – If the connections and CAN network are in good condition, the transmission control module may be faulty and require repair or replacement.

Hi, that code should not be displayed just like that, seems like a glitch, nanocom must show the full code description cos there are more versions of it(see attachments, that's only one example of code but the format should be like that), anyway check the ECU red plug to not have oil cos it acts as an isolator and can mix up the CAN signal, give it some contact spray anyway, as for the running issue record inputs fuelling on SD card from a drive then we'll see
