Been having problems with feedback through the brakes. One caliper wasn't pushing on one side and allowed rust to build up. I've cleaned that off, flakes of easily half a mm, but there's still feedback and so disc must be warped.
Anyway, CV splines are worn (originals on 200K miles) so I'm thinking I might as well replace those and the stub axles (original too) while I'm in there.
To save buying [arts separately I've been looking at kits on Paddocks and LR direct. They only seem to supply Britpart ones. Even LR Direct don't seem to offer Bearmach or other 'Brands'.
I've been searching LZ and looking through threads on this. I've read James Martin say a few times that he uses the Britpart ones because customers don't want to pay big money, but he hasn't had any problems with them. I reckon James must fit a lot of them compared to an individual enthusiast.
However, before I go ahead and buy the relevant kits from either Paddocks or LRDirect, does anyone have any better buying options/suppliers?

Ive fitted the BP ones to my mates & they've been in for 4 years & had no issues iirc I fitted new cvs
& got the BP swivel kits on my 90 but its done only a few hundred miles in two years.
I only fit Timken wheels bearings though.;)

Cheers, Kevstar. I put Timken wheel bearings in earlier this year.
Paddocks tend to focus on Britpart, but LRDirect used to list a range of suppliers. Now their cheapest is just called 'Replacement', but is priced for buying multiple quantities. ie, you have to buy at least two, sometimes at least three. Like three brake discs!! What's the use of that? Unless I'm reading it wrong
Anyway, looks like I'm going Britpart unless someone comes up with a better kit buying option :)

If you go to Bearmach’s website you can buy kits and parts from them directly. I’ve just had 110 rear stub axle kits from them, very quick standard delivery.

I've just done my CV and half shafts and bought them from Bearmach. Their next day delivery is great as the job grew arms and legs

Don't worry mate. I'll probably order them today. I think it's worth giving the Britpart ones a try. I'll then have my own opinion of them  :D

Hi kevstar,
Ordered them from LR Direct this morning. Thanks for your help :)

Now's the time for someone to come along and say 'Oh, I got much better kits from...........' :D

That's extremely fast delivery. Did you pay a few quid extra for that?
On phone at the moment, but will check them out on the laptop later. Cheers.

No Free delivery next day, Paddocks never had some of the stuff in stock would of had to wait till next with them
plus these were cheaper. All parts and vehicles are on the left

Hi Border, I've compared a few of the parts I've just bought from LRDirect

CV Joint
DLS £44.50 x2 = £89.00
LRDirect £33.29 x2 = £66.58

Front stub axle
DLS £39.50 x2 = £79.00
LRDirect £34.20 x2 = £68.40

DLS total = £168.00
LRDirect total = £134.98

A difference of £32.02 on just those two items.
Are you sure you compared with Paddocks correctly. I listed Paddocks against LRDirect before I bought my stuff and Paddocks were just pennies more expensive. LRDirect do free delivery over £50 and next day delivery from £5.00

They were on the bits I ordered by the end of checkout on Paddocks they added vat, so went with DLS about 20 quid cheaper.
Suppose its what you want at the time.

My comparisons included the VAT
I compared them on a spreadsheet

I know what you are thinking  And you'd be right  @neilly will probably like it, though he'll find a fault with it somewhere ;)
