On a TD5 that is correct. On the petrol versions, this is not the case.

PS Note: The steering wheel switch as bought from LR doesnt have the bracket you need to mount it - some of the people selling 'kits' on ebay have their own bracket included - otherwise, you will need to fabricate your own.

Do you really only need dask and steering wheel switches to make cruise work on an 04 disco

just fitted the cruise control two days ago and yes u only need the two switches, really a very simple job:):):)

to cut the hole i used a stanley knife which i heated the the blade with a blow torch, made cutting the hole very easy, just like cutting butter lol lol

Did you make or buy your bracket? and if you bought where did you get it from and if you made it our of what and how?

I know you didn't ask that question of me but hey ;-)

I bought the kit off ebay and it came with both switches and the bracket and screw as I don't have much in the way of metal working ability, equipment or time :)

I used a dremel to 'grind' out the appropriate chunk of plastic out of the steering wheel. As there is quite a large gaiter covering it, nobody will ever know how neat the edge is anyway.

I also bought mine from eblager it came with all the brackets and screw

I was told you can find the switches a bit cheaper, I never did find any cheaper, coulnt be arsed looking

the kit I bought is excellent

i used a piece of aluminum ruler and copied the radio switch and used small machine screws and nuts (4mm i think??) to fix it to the steering wheel plenty strong enough and easy to make used a die grind to make the hole
