Creaking noise

Hello all,

Got a little problem with my 2002 TD4.

Lately, i have noticed a slight creak/knock coming from the front door. I have tried lubing the door straps but to no avail.

Any ideas peeps???

Back in 2001 when my Td4 was still under warranty I had the same problem, my driver's side (left) door was having a clonk as well, when I went to the dealer with it they took the car in for a day as they needed to weld the underside of the door again, apparently some of the doors were not well welded. Since it's done no more noise in the door. (Think there was, at that time, a TSB for it. Don't know whether 2002 cars were still vulnerable for it though).

Our TD4 developed a little gremlin who lived inside the driver's door and often tapped away. I seem to remember my father-in-law took the side panel off and fed the little gremlin some grease and that kept him happy for about six months.

I'll ask him tonight what sort of grease door-gremilins like and where they like the food to be put.
