Crankcase vent project. Help!

Interested in an oil catch can set-up for my 300tdi. Too much oil entering the rocker cover. I realize it may be something more serious, but I am currently renewing the timing belt, replacing the turbo, and considering a head gasket (just so I can sneak a look at the piston tops).

I intend to eliminate the oil cyclone and route the crankcase vent tube to a "catch can" to prevent oil and vapors from getting into my intake.

Question: There are two hoses that are vented to the crankcase. One is connected to the oil cyclone and enters the rocker cover midway of the cover. What purpose does the other, more forward hose on the rocker cover provide? It appears to also vent the block in some way. Should I route this hose from the block to my proposed "catch can" as well?

Thanks.

The oil in the breather circuit all returns to the sump.
Easiest way it to fit a catch tank in the pipe between the cyclone and the air filter, this is how most people do it, dead simple and it works.
What you are talking about sounds like to much bother.
