Hi

A while ago I did some work on my clutch and while it was being done we thought we do the crankshaft seal while we was at it, because it was leaking.
It came apparant that a previous owner had damaged the crankshaft looked like he had tried digging the seal out with a screwdriver. So we put a new seal in and it still leaks so im thinking its due to the damage.
I've heard of a few options but im not sure what the best thing and most economical thing to do is?
Do I get the damage repaired, have the backend replaced, just get another engine to put in it? Or just put up with it chucking oil out everywhere!!
The rest of the vehicle is in pretty good shape and runs fine, its a 1989 110
Any suggestions would be appreciated

Thanks

I've just replaced my seal for the second time It was leaking from the outer diameter of the seal not the seal lip. If it's leaking that bad it might be worth having a look. Did you put the seal in with the special tool cos they're dead easy to damage if you dint.
