Hello Everybody and Merry Christmas !

I'm looking to fit either a PTO gearbox or an industrial toothed belt drive pulley to the PTO on the back of the transfer box. So far I have not found any details about the shaft ( with a keyway ?, with splines ?) which fits into the PTO. If anybody can point me in the right direction for details on this shaft I'd be most grateful.

I'd also like to know the reduction ratio between engine and the PTO shaft . For example, if the engine is turning over at 2000 rpm (say) with 4th gear engaged, how many rpm on the PTO.

Many thanks for looking at my question.
Warm Regards to All, Steve

you get a flange the same size as your props the ones ive seen were a straight drive with no gearing in 4th gear you get exactly the same as engine revs as 4th gear is straight through box

James, Hello Many thanks for your reply. Sorry I was so to acknowledge that but been some difficulties here recently. I've found a PTO assembly p/n which seems to be availablbe from Land Rover and ( at much lower cost) from various parts suppliers p/n FTC988. These are described as for 'Defender 1987 onwards' but my vehicle is a Landrover 110 1983 vintage.

All engine and transmission parts on vehicle are original from 1983.

Do you reckon the transfer box would be the same as for a Defender 1987 vintage ? To be sure, where will I find the plate which identifies the p/n of the transfer box?

All advice welcomed.

transfer boxes are the same ,some input gears later didnt have dog gear on back of input gear but they can be replaced with one that does
