hi ive got a couple of problems on my 300tdi discovery series I manual

first problem: from 1st to 2nd the gears crunch when engaging been told this is the syncromesh how easy is this to sort out etc.

and second problem: the rev meter doesnt move except once the discovery starts to speed up but only to about 800rpm what could be causing this and how could this be sorted etc

Before you start stripping the gear box I'd make sure the clutch pedal is adjusted poperly an try moving the gear lever round a bit on its splines, just realized its a 300TDi an I'm in 2.5 turboland so this might not be relevant but worth a try any how.

Thought they were hydralic clutchs with no adjustment, working along the same line as disc brakes, self adjusting.

lol i wasnt guna start stripping gearbox until i found out if really is that also another problem:
wont start sometimes when the disco is warm has happened three times so far but once she has started to cooled down she will start straight away
