Hi all
With the underside and engine done, I am now ready to tackle the bodywork of my 110 SW. Going over it tonite I pulled out the rubbers (riveted in place) that run along the sills of the body where the doors close onto. There is a rounded lip on top and they interface with the footwells/carpets (if you have them). I hope you now know what I mean. Anyway, mine are crumbling to bits and with the lip, may be difficult for a panel beater to fabricate. They seem just simple metal strip but but with the rounded lip and they attach to the box section of the body frame (but without any primer between the contact!). I have found supplier for the full sill and door frames (MWC3336) but price is about 500 quid a side!!

So, are there any replacements available for the simple rounded lengths? If not, could someone make some up cos I reckon they are gone on the majority of Landies!

Have a look at the exploded parts diagram (in the sticky) and see ikf you can identify the part.

Not sure from your description whether it's the:

Sill Panel (RTC6205)

Sill Channel (MWC1086 or ALR5294 depending on year)

There are different versions of the above depending on specific model (Station Wagon, 4 door etc), so IDing the part from the diagram is best

Yeah you have to buy the complete bit. YRM metal solutions do replacement parts to weld in. I made my own i went to the metal super market got the guy to cut me 3mm plate to the sizes and made my own up or cut out the crap bits and welded in good metal,
To get the metal curved at the sides i welded the plate in as a proper corner joint with a 2 mm gap for penetration then smoothed over with a flap disc. It left the perfect radius.
I replaced most of my B and C pillar but getting the metal cut to size and welding it up, save a fortune. I repaired replaced as required on both sides for less than £20 of metal and just over a days work, but mine were on my 110csw at the time

Sorry no pics, got rid of the 110csw a few years ago, I wish i had taken pics cos loads of people ask for them, But for the B/C posts i made some bits while hiding under an umbrella and the bits that were attached to the landy i was welding in the rain with a tarp over me. All because the MOT was the next day.

Haha cant beat a good tight deadline! I'm not sure if I'm getting mixed up, but are the sills obviously the bits allong the side, but are they the bits that are like curled over allong the top..?

The sills are c shaped, the floor pan and seat box bolt on to the top of them.
The bit of metal that holds the carpet down and hides the seat box bolts are retainers (MUC1500). Mines were badly corroded so i made new ones out of some angle iron. search results for "muc1500" | L. R. Series

I couldn't get any when i was doing the repairs thats why i made them
