Defender 110 1991. What a pr*T! I set out to change radiator hoses and thermostat yesterday as temp gauge never got much off cold. Hell of a job getting the bottom jubilee clip off on bottom hose. Removed fan cover and intercooler hoses/pipes and got everything off to get to it, so thought I would flush the radiator and block. Stuck the hose in the top and turned it on, nothing coming out of bottom hose but plenty of water coming back at me from top where hose was. Tried a bit harder and for two seconds thought radiator must be blocked. Then the pr*t bit! I had stuck hose in the top intercooler entry where I had taken pipe off. Felt quite sick as by now there was water coming out the bottom of the turbocharger! Took all turbo pipes off and intercooler off and emptied water out of it. Finished the job, all back together and hesitantly turned the key. Fired up fine and no probs with a 5 mile drive. Easy thimg to do! Could I have wrecked it??
