Corrieyairack Pass

Hi,

Anyone got any recent info regards the condition and access to the Corrieyairack Pass?

Any new gates, poles, chains or any other discouraging things?

Despite it having the same status as Edinburgh Castle the Scottish government decided to sod the status and gave Scottish and Southern Energy free hand in turning it and many other old routes into high speed routes capable of taking low loaders;big cranes so that Edinburgh can benefit from renewable energy or so Mr Salmond says!
Completely and utterly no more!
Having said this you would have had found the Fort Augustus end inaccessible because the iron pipe carrying water to The Fort Augustus Abbey power station rotted through (or was kicked)completely destroying official access.
The very last section which runs from the tarred back road down to the A82 at Loch Lunigan is just a stream bed and despite its status the Scottish government would not give friends of ours who own the farm a single penny even for raw materials to restore it which would have benefited their farm .
