Hi chaps, should I use Halvoline XLC in a 1999/T 4.0 Thor engine?
Great, thanks Henry.Any standard OAT will work.
Great, thanks Kermit.I use the traditional stuff as there was no such thing and OAT when the engine was designed.. but I'm just odd. OAT certainly lasts longer and if you change coolant type you need to be thorough in not mixing different types as they can react with eachother
That's great advice, thanks.I use the stuff used in vw, the pink stuff. I also wouldn't leave the anti freeze in there for too long, not for more two years. Also if you use a current type, it can be mixed if needed in emergency
but but but some OEM use different colours for the same thing.. and same colours for different coolant.. it gets very confusing if you start looking at manufacturer branded coolantI use the stuff used in vw, the pink stuff. what about the green, blue, orange, yellow and red ones? The pink is normally - 37° for likes of hdi and vw units,
The yellow is normally - 35° (big difference) .. And a universal type. Ie any maker.
Well, here it is. We get ready mixed and pour straight in.
Notice you're not including the black wine gums in that listwhat about the green, blue, orange, yellow and red ones?
I'll leave the wine gums for youNotice you're not including the black wine gums in that list
