coolant leak

I have a 200 tdi and have coolant leaking from the rear of the engine there is no contamination in the oildos anyone know where it could be coming from ?

heater matrix... or split pipe?

when i squeeze the hose between the rad and the pump i can hear air at the rear so i am guessing a hose are they a pain to change ?

Find the leaking pipe first...
Undo the bottom drain hose.
Change damaged pipe;undo jubilee clips.
Pipes from LR supermarket,paddocks or rimmer brothers.
Replace bottom hose.
Refill with anti freeze 50% approx 1 gallon slowly via header tank.
Remove plastic cap at top of engine will help 'bleeding' process.
Retighten plastic cap.
Run engine & check coolant level.

Not sure if 200tdi has plastic cap...

not on thermostat housing - one in top of radiator tho. Change it fur a household radiator drain plug - the plastic ones are prone to breaking

bloody core plug down the back if you,ve got the same luck as me

It seems to be leaking from the back on to the top of the gearbox i didn't think there was a core plug there?

dunno mine was a v8
