converting 300 v8 to tdi ( auto)

hi everyone . this is my first post ..i have just purchased a 97 300tdi as a doner vehicle to convert my 3.9 v8 es to a tdi .. both vehicles are auto .has anyone done this and got any advice? i noticed the engine mounts are different , but dont know about the bellhousings as i have noticed a crank sensor in the tdi bellhousing.also does the engine wiring loom from the tdi plug straight in the v8 fuse box .as this tdi is EDC controlled any info on this . once complete i will be selling the rest of the tdi for spares ( only had front damage ).

why not use the engine and box from the tdi

i am putting in the engine from the tdi .i wanted to know if the bellhousing was the same as the tdi as the v8 ,which would save removing both boxes and installing if it could be answered

take the engine and box out as one, its easier

considered that ,but dont know the condition of the tdi box.dont want to take the chance its faulty,plus my v8 auto box is good
