Concerning driving incident

I am the new owner of a '94 Discovery and everything about it is great, or so I thought!

Today and about a week ago when I was driving along at about 50 the vehicle suddenly started slowing down noticably. It was only when I removed foot from accelerator pedal before repressing it that it carried on driving normally.

Everything else about the Disco (Dave) is in great nick so I am a little stuck as to what this problem could be being caused by.

Any advice that can be offered by the knowledgeable fomaites here will be very gratefully received.

hi there i have just got a 94 disco 300 tdi i am no expert on them but i would start with the fuel filtre in the engine bay and i think there is one on the diesel tank but not sure good luck

the one near the tank is a sedimentor not a filter.
