Hi New here so be gentle. Have a Series III which won't start - discovered that when the cold start light is on there is no power in the low tension circuit of the distributor. When it is off there is power -anyone got any suggestions why and how to fix ?

I can only suggest that someone has fubared your wiring, possibly taking a live feed from the coil to the choke switch - do you have a wiring diagram you can check against?

Hi Oxides. The wiring diagram shows a white wire to the negative of the coil - mine is white and blue. Can see a white and blue wire around the back of the cold start warning light. Where should the choke switch be located? On mine the original choke cable has been removed and a separate one added but the old choke lever is in place.

The choke switch sits on the choke cable and may be wired to earth via a temperature operated switch in the head.
My wiring diagram shows a white wire to coil +ve, white and black from coil -ve to dizzy.
White and blue from bulb to cold start cable switch, black from switch to earth (or switch in block) -
This is from the LandRover manual.
