L322 Coding a new key

So I’ve searched and can only find old posts about getting a replacement key and getting it coded to the car,
Has anyone managed to get this done or is it still a main dealer only thing?

Yes it’s a 2004 TD6

I have a post somewhere about reprogramming original key. Stealers won't guarantee it will work and wanted approx £75 to try. I currently live with one key. When it fails I'll use AA key cover
