clutch slave thread issue

just ordered this for my 2.25petrol 1978:


trouble is it won't fit!
the threaded flare following nut on the slave cylinder pipe won't screw into the slave (no I'm not trying to put it into bleed hole :0)

maybe the PO had over tightened it and caused it to expand over the flared end of the pipe.

can I squeeze it back or will I needs new pipe?
I think the thread is 7/16unf in the slave cylinder as the new and old took a 7/16tap with no issues

Pretty much standard fair when the pipes are overtightened. Replace the pipe for an easy life.

You can file down the edge of the flare a bit so it will go in the hole and start on the threads but you will probably die

Did this on Mini brakes in the past without any leaks

just ordered a new line from landrover...only £8 so better than dying

but still getting a new one for £8

NRC3287 = pre bent slave pipe
NRC4374 = straight pipe
