I have a 1985 Nissan truck with clutch problems. It acts as if the
hydraulic system needs bleeding but bleeding does no good. In the
morning, pedal goes all theway to the floor, gets better with use iun
the day. Master and slave cylinder have been replaced twice within 3
months and it has a new clutch. There is NO fluid leakage. The
clutch damper is the only part of the hydraulic system that has not
been replaced and I suspect it (280,000 miles). I cannot find this
part anywhere on the internet. I cannot even find what it is supposed
to do. Any ideas? Can I simply take it out and replace it with a
piece of hydraulic hose?

You might try a web search and see if some pertinent information comes
up:

http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&q=Clutch+Damper

You might also check all of the hydrauilic lines (hard and soft) between
the master and slave cylinders. See if any of the soft line(s) are in
need of replacement.
