clutch bleeding issue!!!

bled the brakes today and all has gone well this time, but after the brakes were done i went to bleed the clutch just to renew the fluid and check for bubbles as i have noticed the pedal just dont feel the same lately.

done exactly as the rave says but nothin is happening.

its says to push down on clutch pedal then un-do the bleed nipple then when all air bubbles are gone to tighten the screw back up. done.

but nothing is happening. there is a small bubble in the tube im using to attach to the bleed screw and the bubble is not moving up of down so there really is no pressure going through the tube.

as i said nothing happend with the clutch but somehow now there is alot of free play in the clutch pedal and the bite is as soon as you lift the clutch, where before it was just before your foot leaves the pedal.

any ideas what happened and why there is nothing coming out of bleed screw???

You need to get someone on the clutch pump it up and keep pressure on it then undo bleeder. Nip bleeder up before pedal is raised then continue doing this until pedal returns to normal. Can be a bitch if slave is full of air.
 
Get underneath and push the rod back into the clutch slave cylinder, any wayward air will then go back to the master cylinder reservoir and away. Then get someone to very slowly press the clutch pedal as you guide the rod so it doesn't go where it shouldn't
 
thanks for the advice. however was driving it tonight and all of a suddedn changed gear and the bite moved back to where it was and free play has gone.

WTF???
dont understand it but anyway, i will re do it again tomorrow, when i change one of the rack rod ends.

Is your slave cylinder leaking have you looked inside the rubber boot? Or you may have a bit of crap floating inside the master cylinder holding the seal off now and again.
 
nope havent looked at nothing yet. one thing i might add is that when i was trying to bleed the clutch, the bleed tube was attached to the screw and then i undun it and instead of fluid through the tube there was drips of fluid coming out from around the screw. only a few drips tho. dont no what could cause that.

Do i need to pump the clutch pedal to get pressure up before opening bleed screw???
it dont say so in rave but thought i'd ask.

Standard way of doing it pump up to best pedal release bleeder pressure forces air out. Sounds like you may have a leaking slave cylinder. There are lots of things it does not say in RAVE. There is no tricks of the trade section.:):):)
