clutch bite position low

Could be clutch wear, my 200Tdi is the same!

Yes I bled the system, did that initially as a means of replacing the no doubt aged fluid, clutch itself works fine but the rather low bite is annoying as it needs to hit the floor completely before coming out of gear!

It's hydraulic and self adjusting so wear isn't the problem.

It the clutch improves by pumping it then probably air in the system if not then it has to be too much free play either at the pedal or the clutch fork, possibly badly worn pivot point about to wear through

If its a D2 the pivot point/arm should not wear.

When my new clutch was fitted the pedal was biting about 1" from the floor.

After a LOT of bleeding hassle the bite point is now normal again.
