Since having a new clutch fitted to our TD5 the biting point is a bit high, and the clutch pedal is the same height as the brake pedal (l believe it should be a bit lower?)
Anyway, l can't move the two locknuts on the master cylinder pushrod, so am unable to adjust the pedal position!
Can l fit a new pushrod, or is it part of the master cylinder?

That's the one l am talking about.

But it has two locknuts on the rod that have to be loosened to adjust the pedal, and they won't budge.

You could grind a cut out to fit over the push rod in the ring end of an old 13mm spanner IIRC (or whichever size it is). It allows abit more movement of the spanner & nut for adjustment.

HTH

Can anybody confirm what size the nuts are without me having to take it apart again?
I'll order a couple of brake pipe spanners with cut outs already in, that should do it.

See attached. Couple minutes on a grinder.

It's been a few years since I did mine but I seem to remember that if you get someone to press the pedal abit, it puts the nut in an easier position to turn?
Something to consider also is releasing the bonnet prop and folding the bonnet up against the screen, makes it easy to get right in there with your 13mm spanners.

Well l took the advice on here and used a couple of 13mm brake pipe spanners.

I had to release the pedal (from the master cylinder) and then wedge it down with a piece of wood to get at both nuts.

But they released easily.
