Clunking on bumps and turning

Trying to help my dad with this. He has a 60 reg L322 that is out of warranty.

I had a drive in it yesterday for him, and when you go over bumps there is a very loud clunk. But only when you go over bumps with the right hand front wheel, and only when it is wet.

It also does it when you turn the steering from lock to lock. I would say an unseated spring kind of noise, but I know the suspension doesn't work like that.

He got underneath it yesterday and reckoned the sound sounded like it was in the middle of the car, rather than on a corner.

Any ideas? I thought maybe steering rack?

Spot on.....its the ball joints at the bottom of the steering rack. The noise comes from there and resonates along the front and you can never be sure where its coming from. Of course check your track rods first but I had this problem for a year and spent a fortune replacing part after part on the suspension then I found armsonae.co.uk who is a RR specialist in Syston Leicester. He is a wizzard! for all things Range Rover.

This is not a cheap repair. You need to make sure the air suspension sensors are all spot on because a proper (not Kwikfit) tracking procedure is carried out after the repair which includes the back wheels.
