The outside pad on both front wheels is being dragged by the disc a few millimetres until it clicks very loudly against the locking pin. The inner pad doesn't move. It sounds for all the world like duff cv joints, which is what I thought it was, took a wheel off to investigate, cv's perfect. Noticed the movement on the pad. Same, outer pad, both sides. Disks and pads renewed 2k ago, also new calipers. Really noisy and annoying. Anyone come across this before. I would search but the link won't work on my iPad, thanks to an Apple upgrade...

Are you sure that you have the right pads??
Usually there is only a sliding fit between the pads and the caliper, and quite often the new pads have to be gently tapped in !

Definitely correct pads. Checked with Mintex. Apparently they sell some Spring anti rattle clips to fit the Defender, ordered some to try out

Mine used to clack and click on the brand new pads, I even changed the disks in the end, which made no difference, they do seem to have gradually quietened down, or I have got used to it.
