Classic Tdi immobilised,desperate!!

My 1993 R/R tdi has immobilised itself! This is a recent purchase,noticed the reversing light werent working so on removing the lenses found that both bulbs had been removed,replaced them and tried in reverse gear,nothing happened except now i have no ignition/abs lights no power to cig lighter or heater blower,everything else works including the alarm,I am absolutely stuck,cant figure this one out at all,any help at all would be massively appreciated,thanks everyone,keith.

Have you tried takin' the bulbs out of the reverse lights?

Hi thanks everyone,I have now sorted it.Traced it to a short on the reversing light bulb holder which kept blowing a fuse,so it wasnt immobilised after all!
