Classic Rangerover

Can anyone please tell me why when i start my RR every morning, It won't change up through the gears for about 5 miles, Only when i have been running for about 10mins at approx 4K revs does it want to change up.

When did the auto box last have a filter AND fluid change?

Hi Simple Terms your box is stuffed

You need to have the box properly serviced a simple Fluid change will not do it probably make it worse.

In simple terms the plates in the box and the chambers are not correctly functioning or out of adjustment. I had a SAAB which did exactly the same thing some 15 years ago (always had autos) the box was stuffed but simple repair fixed it.

Don't know the cost but any good Auto service agent will do the job for a modest fee
It's about the only civilised costing on any kind of auto vehicle the box as a new one is only 600-800 with a good warrenty. were as a cylinder head gasket change is going to cost you excess of 900+++
