Chugging

Hi, i have a couple of problems with my freelander. can u help? its a 2001. 1.8 petrol. firstly, i have the ABS,TC, and HD lights come on. ive changed the break pedal switch to no avail. next I can be driving along in the right gears and speed and the car starts to "Chug" as if im in the wrong gear! Even if i change down it still happens. Feels like a blockage? holding back? can you help. any info would be greatly appreciated. thanks Greg

If it "chugs" are you sure it's not just misfiring? Been off road, washed the engine, splashing through big puddles in the last few weeks? Check down the plug holes for water or signs of it, it it was there and evaporated but left the leads etc dirty they will still missfire! Also check in the cap if it has one!
