Chipped DSE

Hi all
1996 P38 DSE.
Was told when i brought it that it had been chipped.And the performance difference between mine and my Dads 1999 DHSE is considerable..So i have no reason to disbeleave..
First off i have no idea where to start looking to try and find the box?
Is it liable to be located within a "standard" area? + what am i looking for? So as to identify what i have.

Also i get alot of black smoke on heavy acceleration,which a few people from here have advised is over fuelling (caused by the chip). And im not using no oil,,,,so is this simply unburnt fuel,due to the excess thats being pumped in?

Hi boy done good. Have a look at the thread I have posted. There are several photos on that of a tuning box and were it is. I still cant work out where mine is supposed to fit !
