HI! My truck s10 is giving me some trouble lately. It's engine oil
pressure gauge is stays normal for first 30 miles of drive at around
78 (close to max) then it begin to go down around 40 and moves between
40 to 70 depending upon the ideling.

Is there any problem or it's a normal range ... any help.

It never comes below 40 which is the middle of the gauge scale.

Thanks!

What did it read when you thought it was normal? 40 PSI is plenty at idle as
long as you have sufficient volume, if an oil passage is plugged or
restricted though you can have great pressure but still be starving for oil.
Higher than normal pressure often indicates such problems, which may be as
simple to fix as replacing the filter.

You should have a proper gauge put on where the sending unit is to see
if the sending unit is stil working properly.
