Ive got a 'check coolant level' alert, so I got a new sensor off ebay and it hasn't cured the problem.
C'est la vie
When I plug the old sensor in and stick a magnet beside it, the fault clears.
Anyone know if the sensor is a hall effect device which is operated by a magnet on the float inside the coolant tank?
And yes, there's plenty of water and antifreeze in the tank
Thanks

It's affected by the specific gravity of the anti freeze mix. Likely to be a reed switch but I honestly do not know for sure.
