Chassis Number??

Hey Guys,

Can anyone tell me where I'd find the chassis No. on a 1999 Defender 90 TD5 ??

int it stamped on the front left of thechassis?

To be honest, I don't know -- I'm lookin at buyin my first landy, it's in england and I'm in Ireland, I've asked the guy for the Chassis No. but he doesn't know where to look -- neither do I??

i int certain but am abart 75% certain that its on one of the front chassis legs , round about where the bumper is mouted. course yer could wait fer grunt to appear and tell yer fer sure

Thats where there reckoned to be but mine int. There should be a VIN plate on the bulkhead or on the brake pedal sevo mounting gubbins.

Assuming right hand drive.

1. chassis number is on the driver side front chassis leg. you need to scrub away some gunk before you can see it.
2. VIN number is on the passenger side, when you look thru the bottom of the windscreen. it's a silver plate stuck to the bulk head.
3. open the bonnet, you'll see an ID plate which states the vehicle spec when it left the factory. this is ontop of the brake servo area.
