right, last year i had a few charging probs, charging lights on dash and head lights dimming when not revving , so i fitted me self a new alternator before christmas , then it stabilised and was chuckin out good voltage. and holding charge,

now the charge lights back on but dimms when revving high  battery "looks" in good condition , and seems to hold charge

??? ah recon its a bad earth somewhere ? just where,

any idea where to start testing with a multi meter, ? i recon test out put then chech all round vehicle to find a point where the earth has a bad reading or low voltage , or am i better off with a new battery to start with ? then test ?

try conecting one jumplead from engine to negative on battery and the engine to chassis. Personaly i think you alternator has gone belly up. check what voltage and more importantly amps you are getting when alternator is loaded up (ie- light and heater on )
