Hello,

My 2.5 N/A is taking a little while to start up from cold. I have to wait between 20 and 30 seconds for the glowplugs to warm up and then it takes a little bit of winding up to get her ticking over. I noticed that the glowplugs were looking pretty nackered when I had a new piston fitted into the engine, one of which was considerably shorter than the others.

If I buy a set of new glowplugs (do I need four?) should I expect my engine to start after 9 seconds of glowing, and how easy are they to fit?

Thanks in advance for any help!

I did have a quick look at ebay, but I don't have an account! I've paid just about, or a couple of pennies over £4 with £5 postage on top. It'll keep me busy one afternoon (still got 4 weeks of Summer Holidays left before I head back to 6th form).

Cheers

Hope all goes well.

One problem I found with mine was that when tightening the new ones they gripped the link lead, the old ones had seperate washers which prevented this but the newer ones came with moulded ones.
