Hey guys,, im new here ..i got a freelander 1 year 2000 v6 2.5l ..i hope i can get some help...thanks inadvance...mmm my problem is where do i losen the tensioner to put the belt ...please help..thanks ooh is the belt for airco..altenator..powersteering..etc

It's a spring tensioner on the V6. There's a square hole in the end of the tensioner where a socket drive end will fit. You can then loosen the tension by pressure against the spring.

Ooh yes i see it ...its an auto tensioner...oke thanks

Plenty of belts can be changed with care without locking tools but I've read that the V6 engine definitely needs dedicated tools before replacing the cam belt?
No it doesn't, if you know what you are doing.
There's a guide on V6 timing belt changes without the locking tools in my sig. Although I've just seen the pictures don't work any more.
I'll investige that.
