I'm going on a ~5000 mile trip in August. Vehicle is sound but i'm a little concerned about the clutch. As it drives right now, there is no real issue. It doesnt slip under normal driving conditions but when setting off it doesnt grab as I would expect. Hill starts are difficult and yesterday when pulling out, the clutch slipped at 2000. The revs held at 2000 with the clutch all they way out as it accelerated from 0 to ~10mph. This is the first time it has done this.

There is no slip once moving though. We have some steep hills in Lincoln and putting my foot down in any gear never causes any slipping. Its just on take off. I've got 31" tyres on with standard gearing, which probably doesnt help things.

Does it sound like the clutch needs replacing or just adjusting? I'm not too clued up on the mechanics of a clutch so need some advice. I'm prepared to replace it if needs be and would like to replace it with something a little more heavy duty without breaking the bank. What brands are recommended these days? and which bit is best to replace with HD.

Cheers
