Hey all,
I'm a new member here and hope someone may be able to help.
I have a 2006 Range Rover 4.2 V8 Supercharged model and the central locking doesn't work remotely, I can lock the drivers door manually but it only locks and unlocks the drivers door.
When you unlock the car like this the alarm beeps until you start the engine.

Secondly although it's had all the suspension sorted out 2 months ago by the main dealer in Southampton after 5 mins of driving or when you reach about 30 mph the dash says 'suspension fault, normal height only
On starting the car you can raise and lower the suspension fine and it doesn't loose height over time, it just comes up with the error when you drive.

Sorry guys but any help would be much appreciated as I have no clue at all.

Many thanks,
Andy

Battery OK in the FOB?
Needs diagnostics.

Take it back to the Stealers ,bet they charged you an arm and a leg.
Yeh £1100 and they think it's a seperase issue so will charge for diagnostics.

I read up it might be the BCM being in transport mode but apart from buying a diagnostic unit to clear this mode I have no idea on how to sort it.

Just wondered if anyone here had the same issue and fixed it.

I don't have very deep pockets and I aquire the vehicle after non payment of a job I did..
Many thanks

How can they say that, take it back and say sort the suspension, a job which you have charged me for or give me my money back.

Get it fixed and get rid to recover your debt or you will find the money you lost increasing rapidly.
I was thinking about keeping it but on the other hand I don't have a clue what their worth either, I like driving it and it is in really good condition inside and out compared to most but ah well will see what the dealer says.

Has anyone used the diagnostic tool from RSW Solutions ? Sounds like it can work wonders for these kind of faults,
Andy

Will do mate, will let you know how I got on,
Thank you
Good luck, don't take any crap, the locking fault may well be a seperate fault but they charged you to fix the suspension that lasted two months, if they cannot put the diagnostics on FOC as a goodwill gesture then they need to be named and shamed. tell them this fiasco is being followed on a Range Rover Forum.

Good plan will follow all these suggestions thank's all

A few of the guys on here have got or used the RSW kit and rate it very highly, if you intend to keep the car and it will work on your year (it does not cover all years) it will save you a lot of time money and guessing and will always be saleable if you sold the car.

Thanks I think I may just get one anyway as it seems a useful bit of kit, I do want to keep the car as I do like it alot, just don't know alot about them or how reliable they are.
They seem to have their issues but the rewards outweigh the negatives possibly.
Thanks again

Don’t go buying the RSW as it won’t cover your vehicle if you have touch screen display which you will have at 2006.

You may have simple faults but if you intend to keep the car then you need your own kit that will pay for itself very quickly for a reasonable investment.
I would say the best diagnostic for your year is the the GAP IID at around £4-500 but you could go for the icarsoft i930 I believe but would need to confirm, it’s ok but not as good as the GAP for live data etc. But will read and clear faults.
Go with the advice above as far as going back to get existing fault but make it clear you can’t spend any more money.
What procedure are you doing to sync the key fobs as it is very particular ?
Main dealers are great when all else fails but a Range Rover will break you very quickly if you go there with every little problem the diva throws at you, a good Indy and your own diagnostics is the way forward.
The JLR vehicles are generally less hassle than the earlier BMW.
I’ve found when dealing with the main dealer near me in Kent that they have been exceptional when I’ve needed them but I’ve akways had a chat with them before carrying out any work saying there just isn’t the money in the vehicle to spend a fortune and I can honestly say they were brilliant. Main dealers have massive overheads so if you drop it off and say fix it they will oblige and very soon you will have a bill larger than the value of the car.
That’s me done, carry on, as you were ! :)

Thanks mate appreciate all the info, the dealer closest to me is well known for being very expensive but I suppose as you say they are the best people ultimately for the job.
I'm going to call and book a slot for diagnostics today and explain it's the same fault they are supposed to have repaired and fingers crossed it will be done for free.
Your all extremely helpful and all the advice is greatly appreciated.
Andy

Oh and the key program I was following is to turn key to position 1 and back, then remove key and hold unlock button and press lock button 3 times and release all buttons then press both lock and unlock together

I would dispute the statement that the dealer's are the best people for the job, just the dearest, is there not a good independent specialist local?

The L322 is a money pit unless you are able to do the maintenance yourself.
