Hi Guys.

I'm looking at upgrading the CD Player in my 52 plate Freelander. The current Land Rover CD Player is giving tons of CD Errors, no matter how much I clean the lens so I think its pretty much had it. I want to upgrade to an iPod or MP3 cd compatible unit. Just wondering if I can retain use of the steering wheel controls, and which stereos/adaptors people here have used with success in the Freelander.

TIA

John

Hi
i changed my multi disc/in dash cassette player for an up to date in dash cd player you need the adapter leads of which you can also get to work the steering switches just search on ebay for freelander leads will bring up loads and cost very little:)

Hi

I bought a cheap £50 Sony single CD with ipod input from Argos. It came with iso lead that plugged straight in. Steering controls aren't connected but I always forgot to use them anyway. This replaced the beige Phillips Cassette player. I left the multichanger where it is (I never had the cartridge for it)

Thanks Guys.

I ended up buying a cheap Sony stereo from Halfrauds which was half price and supports MP3 CD's and also comes with an aux port and a USB port for flash drives. Now loaded up a flash drive with hundreds of tunes meaning I also ne longer need the CD changer. the stereo doesn't support the steering wheel stalk controls but I can live with that.
