Hi, I have a 2003 freelander td4 es premium. All the stereo grea is original equipment. The Sat Nav played up at first but not really bothered. However since then, the steering wheel controls stopped working at the same time the header unit stopped recognising the cd changer.I can eject cartridge from cd player with no issues. Its just as if the head unit is somehow disconnected from cd changer!! I have checked all the wiring, fuses etc and all is well. Any ideas or quirks I should be aware of?

Where are you ? I have the Becker unit from my HSE you could try, as a diagnostic tool.

Unfortunately not, I'm in Southern Hampshire.

You might consider doing what I did, replaced it with an single DIN MP3 player. Plugged straight in and worked immediately, all except the steering wheel controls.
