Anyone toodle round with a CB in their landy???

I used to use one years ago, when it was the old 27/81 bands, but it has new bands now for the legal fm in the UK.

So what do you, if anyone, use? the new bands or the old 27/81?

I'm assuming mine is on the new bands Lenny, although I aint very well versed on CB frequencys. The one I have is approx 4 years old and it has 80 channels (40 for UK and 40 for europe). It comes in handy for laning in groups.

Regards WP.

Ye it will be the new type i suppose.
It should have a sticker on it on the front or top with the numbers 27 (indicating frequency, 27 megs) and something like 99.
If its 27/81 in a circle the 27 is megs and the 81 for the year it was legalised in uk.

Came on the original Am (illegal) band in 1980, moved to legal fm in 81. Was the second person to own a legal set on the Wirral, first being Andy Cannonball. Needless to say we became good friends as there was no-one else to talk to for a while.....lol.

Stayed on fm plus sidebands up until about 98/99, then sort of left it behind. Spent many a night up Pentre Halkyn and Halkyn mountain dx-ing to people.

My old handle brassneck i still use to this day in my email addy amongst other things.
